Over the last couple of months Trojans GM Gary McNey (who incidentally played his first ever competitive game at the same stadium 25 years ago) has been in talks with the Stadium managers to secure the venue, and on Friday the 4th Feb he finally got the green light from the Stadium management to allow the team to play their games at Scotstoun. Trojans GM commented on the move… “This is huge as far as American Football goes in Scotland, Scotstoun (in my opinion)is by far the best facility for any team in Scotland and one of if not the best of any in the UK, the facility is awesome and will give us the opportunity to offer more than a “game in a park” type football this year” “Glasgow has always had a big American football fan base, and many of these guys attend events like the Superbowl bash that the Trojans put together, speaking to many of the guys they are keen and excited to be able to once again, sit in a superb stadium and watch American football like the done previously at Hampden supporting the Scottish Claymores” The Trojans will be advertising their home games over the coming month ahead of their first game on the 8th May.
