The Trojans have signed 25 year
old American Quarterback Sam McKee for the rest of the 08 campaign.
Sam originally from Raceland Kentucky
is now residing in South London with his wife of three years Richelle
and their two year old son Austin.
Sam contacted the Trojans after his flag HC (Mildenhall Mayhem)
saw a topic by the Trojans HC on the BAFL forum looking for a QB.
He then contacted the Trojans HC to see if it was possible to play
ball for the Trojans
Sam played QB at Raceland Rams Worthington High School in Kentucky
where he started in two of his four years where he set many records
and won top honours during his four year at Raceland.

HC Gary McNey commented.....
"This is a great signing for the team, even more so after the
loss of 2007 QB Jim Adams through a recurring injury. Sam on paper
looks to be an excellent acquisition to our team and with guys like
American WR Dave Pasnik and Scottish WR Mark Squire will along with
the rest of the Trojans WR will be a headache for any defence we come
up against this year."
"This also means I can concentrate on calling the offence instead
of being playing and doing the OC job at the same time"
"Sam is up next weekend for practice and will suit up for his
first game for the Trojans against the Yorkshire Rams a home on the
11th May"

Trojans QB Sam McKee commented on signing for the Trojans.....
"My HC contacted me about the Trojans advert so I contacted the
Trojans HC and talked at length with their American WR Dave Pasnik
at the Kirkcaldy Bulls tournament last weekend and was impressed with
what he said about the team"
"I have been looking around for teams to play for but have been
tied up playing for Mildenhall Mayhem Flag Team, and as my wife loves
Scotland so we jumped at the chance for me to play for the Trojans
in Scotland and hopefully get the chance to see Scotland."
|
When asked why he picked the Trojans over a team more local and not
the other end of the country, Sam commented.....
"Other than Richell loving Scotland I wanted to play for a stellar
and well organised team, and it's awesome what the Trojans have done
over the last couple of years, even more so when you consider they
are a new team"
"I will find out on the 4th what the Trojans are all about, I'm
confident they will live up to my expectations and I only hope I can
help them achieve their goal and reach another Britbowl Final" |
The
Trojans are away to the Mustangs this weekend and then they play
the Yorkshire Rams on the 11th May at King George V playing fields.
To see how their new QB does why not pop down and watch the Trojans
in action.
